Nax has its own ski lift system on the
north, west and south slopes of Mt. Noble (2654 m). The local ski shop
hires equipment and also runs a ski school. The slopes are uncongested and
there is no queuing problem. The bottom lift is about 5 minutes drive from
the chalet. There is also a Post bus service from the village. A
reasonably competent skier can ski back to the chalet along woodland
tracks. The Nax ski pass also covers the other resorts in the Val d'Hérens
resorts, including Thyon that connects with the Verbier system. Many
larger skiing centres are within easy driving distance, e.g. Crans
Montana, Anzère, Zinal and Veysonnaz.
Tariffs for the local village ski school, hire of equipment and lift
passes are available.
The Nax system is very popular with our clients due to its quietness and
lack of queues. A major extension has recently been completed to nearly
2600 m. Noble is also suitable for Ski mountaineering and the shop hires
equipment. A separate children's ski area opens in the village dependent
on conditions.
